1.
I’m not giving up on it yet Can you do anything To keep from making me mad ‘Cause it’s bad I’ve got another girl that I’ve been talking to And she’s been listening to me Do you see where I’m going Pretending that nothing is wrong Won’t fix anything Or keep it from falling apart And my heart has been breaking And my mind is not faking And my life has been different since I met you Pretending that nothing is wrong Won’t fix anything Or keep it from falling apart And my heart has been breaking And my mind is not faking And my life has been different since I met you And my life has been different since I met you

Let's begin, I'll try to tell you what I'm thinking Please humor me, I'll try to tell you what I need After writing it all out, I know it mustn't seem like much of anything at all Like listening to stories that don't go anywhere, and I'm the one who's unprepared I know you're not used to this kind of talk from me But at twenty four years old it's probably time for me to think You know what the worst part is, when I see you sad for something you don't understand But I won't consciously tell you I plan to do something I know I can't do I know I can't do now

Wait and See 02:35
I can’t take it, I give up I knew that we were doomed right from the start And I just know I’ve had enough Of putting effort in, it’s time to stop Have you ever tried to see the good in me Is there something else that I should be ‘Cause I’m trying every day And all I get is wait and see You keep thinking we’re okay I’m thinking something else, it’s time to face it I just realized today If something isn’t good, I should replace it Have you ever tried to see the good in me Is there something else that I should be ‘Cause I’m trying every day And all I get is wait and see I can’t take it, I give up I knew that we were doomed right from the start And I just know I’ve had enough of putting effort in, and now I have to stop
4.
I know it's wrong to look for something, a distraction from what I have going on. Reality was pushed so far out of my mind that I lost sight of everything. At first I though nothing was wrong, I'd keep it controlled, but as it turns out, I was just not thinking at all. Looking back now, though not much time's passed since I came clean, I feel like everything is over, and we're moving on.

about

We decided to do a CD-r EP for our 2007 west coast tour with demos of a few new songs, two of which (“Wait and See” and “Since I Met You”) were recorded again for the Simple Machinery album. We made 120 of these in gatefold cardboard sleeves with silkscreened covers, half red/half blue, and mostly sold them during the tour.

credits

released July 27, 2007

All songs written and recorded by Charlie McArthur & Craig Ramsey. Mastered by Dan Pelletier.

Our live band includes Charlie, Craig, Patrick Triato, Rachel Hart, Shannon Sullivan, and Jared McGrath. Adam Barry played drums with us on this tour because Patrick was unable to come with us.

The cover drawings for this record were done by Kate Pugsley (www.katepugsley.com). She's nice - you should take a look at her site.
